The environmental election campaign - What's it all about?

These are 3 different ways that we humans view our  relationship with other species and the world we inhabit.

ECOCENTRISM (nature centred) - The view or belief
  • the earth and the living and non living things that inhabit it
  • can be compared to a single living organism
  • anything that we do to our environment and to other species
  • we do to ourselves
  • it is in our own interests to treat nature with respect
  • since we are part of nature
human nature Why Human Nature Will End In An Equal Money System

ANTHROPOCENTRISM (people centred)  - The view or belief

  •  that people are in charge of the environment
  • resources - raw materials and other species -
  • can be used as we require them
  • provided we have laws to limit the extent of environmental damage
  • and
  • compensation for those that are harmed by environmental damage.
  •
TECHNOCENTRISM (technology centred) the view or belief that
  • we can use the earth's resources without limit
  • because technology will solve any problems which arise from our excesses
  • and find use new resources to use when we have depleted existing resources
